Making Lindenwood’s campus more beautiful is a priority for Lindenwood Student Government President Nick Stone.

“My general goal this year is to work on improving campus culture,” he said at the group’s first meeting of the year on Wednesday.

Stone, who is entering his third year in student government, said his objective is to provide more art on campus.

Also at the meeting, LSG approved $700 for the Phi Delta Theta fraternity to host its Phi Delt Gladiators event. The event will feature an obstacle course among other things to raise money for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association.

In addition to university funds, Phi Delta Theta members said they will also be using sponsorships from various organizations and a raffle to finance the event.

Lindenwood Student Government adviser Angie Royal said there will be changes for student organizations and campus events, including homecoming week, which is set for Oct. 9 through Oct. 14.

This year’s homecoming parade, themed “Welcome to the Jungle,” will only take place on campus, rather than following the route taken previous years.

Representatives for student government are no longer a part of the student worker program. According to a Lindenlink article, representatives will be given grants towards their tuition as compensation.

Jack Bedtke, Natalie Baustian, and Mackenzie Komeshak were sworn in as new senators, but four positions remain unfilled.
