Students who tried to get into the new library building Saturday afternoon were surprised to find it closed.
Starbucks, which is supposed to be part of a 24-hour Wi-Fi cafe and coffee shop, also was locked.
On Saturday, a Lindenlink reporter sitting outside the LARC from 3 to 6 p.m. witnessed 27 students trying to enter the building. One of them asked the reporter if another Starbucks was located nearby.
The building had no signs to display the hours of operation anywhere near the entrance.
“The schedule for the LARC is constantly changing right now,” said Erissia Anderson, public safety and security officer. “They are still doing a little bit of renovating as well and trying to get everything situated to make [students] comfortable.”
The LARC was open from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, but the building and Starbucks will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
