Rescue crews responded to a car fire at Fifth Street and Interstate 70 around 3 p.m. today.
The driver of the white 1980 Pontiac Trans Am declined to give a reporter his name but said he was westbound on Interstate 70 when the car’s temperature gauge spiked.
He said he pulled over at the first exit when he saw the hood of his car bubbling.

The fire burned through the engine and the interior of the car.
The driver said the car had just passed inspection after being in storage for 20 years.
