Ghostly beings telling their tales will be walking Historic Main Street this weekend. 

The “Legends & Lanterns” event takes patrons back in time to Halloween of the 1910s-1930s. Ghoulish characters, such as Baba Yaga, Edgar Allen Poe, Vlad Tepes (also known as Dracula) and more roam the street to tell their scary stories. The Druid Priestess will also enlighten you with a history lesson about the origin of Halloween. 

In addition to ghost stories, there are concerts given by the Angry Villagers, an exhibit on how to mourn like a true Victorian and hayrides driven by horses. 

The event’s final run will be this weekend, Oct. 27-29. An event schedule along with the festival times are below. 

Friday, Oct. 27 (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.)

• 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. – A reading of the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Chauncey House.
• 6:30 p.m. – Concert by the Angry Villagers at the Gazebo. 

Saturday, Oct. 28 (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

• 1, 2, 3, 4:30, 6 and 7 p.m. – A reading of the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Chauncey House.
• 1, 4, and 6:30 p.m. – Concert by the Angry Villagers at the Gazebo. 

Sunday, Oct. 29 (noon to 5 p.m.)

•  1, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.  – A reading of the “Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at the Chauncey House.
• 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. – Concert by the Angry Villagers at the Gazebo.
