St. Charles police are looking for a man who attempted to gain access to a house on Glenco Drive in campus housing last night.
The suspect, described as being white and between the ages of 18-24, “jiggled” a door while a resident was home last night. The man was unable to gain access to the house, and the student contacted authorities, according to Director of Public Safety and Security John Bowman. Bowman also said no arrests had been made as of this morning.
Residents of the Linden Terrace area of campus housing received an email last night at 9:27 p.m. from area coordinators urging them to lock their doors immediately as “there is a male walking around Linden Terrace breaking into houses in the neighborhood.”
A timely warning email was not sent to students because it “did not meet the criteria,” Bowman said.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call campus security at (636) 949-4911 or the St. Charles Police at 636-949-3300.
