A male student driving a light blue Ford Taurus on campus Jan. 16 crashed into a light pole between Evans Commons and the Student Athlete Center.
John Bowman, director of public safety and security, said the student’s car slid around the corner and crashed the vehicle into the pole. The incident happened about 9 a.m.
The driver’s airbag deployed in the process, and according to Bowman, the vehicle would not start after the collision and the driver went to seek help immediately afterward.
Traffic at the site of the collision was limited to one lane on John Weber Drive between Evans Commons and the Student Athlete Center and pushed traffic back to the baseball fields until the accident was cleared.
