ChatGPT is the new popular tool for this generation of students, writers, and hundreds of networks going around the Internet.

But what is actually ChatGPT? It is a chatbot tool that was launched on Nov. 30, 2022, by Microsoft collaborating with OpenAI.

For many people, the use of artificial intelligence has become one of the main sources they go to. Tutors have found that their students started to use ChatGPT to write their lengthy assignments, essays, or even online exams, stating that this is their original work, which leads to plagiarism. The controversy starts because this source is not a hundred percent accurate.

According to The New York Times, many schools have banned ChatGPT to try to avoid a pile of Artificial intelligence homework. Forbes made known that Los Angeles was one of the first districts to block the site in order to secure academic honesty. Public schools in New York City have also banned the use of chatGPT in early 2023 for the same reasons.

This type of site may provide a route to errors, inaccuracy, or flaws due to the absence of corroboration and authentication. It also encourages mind inactivity for the reason that students do not even attempt to do their coursework since they have a machine to do it for them.

However, with the recent implementation of AI detectors, it is becoming harder for college and high school students to use artificial intelligence on their assignments or tests. Most of the time, it is easy to tell when a person used AI because the vocabulary used is not like theirs and this type of source has a tendency to use repetitive cliche phrases.

Students should start enhancing critical thinking and avoid using these auto-generated chatbots for a better outcome with higher quality in their academic and professional lives.
