Last year, Lindenwood University began its food services partnership with Sodexo. Sodexo is a global food Fortune 500 company, specializing in sustainable foods. This school year, Lindenwood has added some change-ups with Sodexo to the dining halls and foods offered on the campus.
“We’re currently doing a lot of improvement,” Lions Dining Service Marketing Manager Nway Nway Khine said. “We have the Lions Pride Market, which is really popular among the university, and ranked third or fourth among university markets in Missouri. We added the Just Bake machine for this semester, and added the Lions Pride Market Express, next to the Evans cafeteria,”
One example of changes to Lindenwood’s dining services is the newly improved C-Store. Last year, when students would buy things from the C-Store, they paid their bills with a cashier. This year, the C-Store doesn’t have a cashier, instead, students will use a scanner for their ID cards to buy items. While you are charged one dining dollar each time you enter the C-Store, according to sophomore and returning student Gianni Comi, a lot of the food now this year is significantly better compared to last year, making visiting the C-Store still plenty worth it.
“I like [the changes]. I think the Lion’s Pride market is easier than it was last year, and you can just walk in and walk out,” Comi said. “[The C-Store] even has cooked foods, and I think they’ve made an overall improvement from last year,”
Not only has the Evans Commons been introduced to the Pride Market Express, but it’s also been able to add a new line of culinary meats.
“We try to have more variety, and change day by day,” Khine said. “From our foods, customer service, grub hub collaborations, and safety; we really focus on the students’ comments, reviews, the things they want, and just making them feel at home whenever they’re on campus.”
Overall, from the new U-Cook station, the Evan’s salad bar, and new GrubHub collaborations, Sodexo has began to completely change the outlook on food services here at Lindenwood.
