The Fall season is finally here, with the calendar officially flipped to October, and Halloween right around the corner. This month, there’s no shortage of events occurring around the St. Louis area, great to fill weekends, evenings, and even the upcoming Fall break off of classes.
Wentzville Renaissance Festival:
The area’s annual renaissance festival takes place every Saturday and Sunday from now through Oct. 27, allowing attendees to dress up and enjoy renaissance age activities, such as jousting and and juggling. The event takes place at Rotary Park in Wentzville, and will also be open to the public on Monday, Oct. 14 in addition to its regularly scheduled weekends.
Legends and Lanterns:
Main Street’s annual Fall festival, Legends and Lanterns, will return every Saturday and Sunday, starting Oct. 12 through Oct. 27. Celebrated at the festival will be Victorian and Druid customs, with ghost stories and fairy tales being shared throughout the duration of the celebration. Main Street will also be decorated with scarecrows and other Fall-like costumes to help get attendees into the Halloween spirit.
Wayne Newton: Up Close and Personal:
Lindenwood University is scheduled to host Wayne Newton at the J. Scheidigger Center of the Arts at 3 p.m. on Oct. 13. The Las Vegas entertainment staple will perform songs and tell stories of his illustrious performing career, and will do so on a never before seen personal level. Tickets to the show start at $45.
Gold Over America Tour
Simone Biles will join a group of other world class gymnasts touring over 30 different arenas this Fall, coming to the Family Arena on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. On the tour, Biles and the other gymnasts will prepare a concert-style gymnastics performance, showcasing their talents, and hoping to inspire the next generation of American gymnasts. Ticket prices are currently TBD, but parking costs $15.
Pumpkin Glow in Historic St. Charles
On Oct. 25 and Oct. 26, Main Street in St. Charles will be decorated with pumpkins, allowing visitors to walk the streets that evening to partake in the shopping deals, enjoy ghost stories, and see different characters dressed as apart of the Legends and Lanterns Festival.
Apple Butter Festival
An annual tradition in Kimmswick, Missouri, about an hour south of campus, the Apple Butter Festival features roughly 600 vendors for attendees to shop at. In addition to the freshly made Apple Butter, there will be live music, craft booths, and a number of local shops in Kimmswick open for attendees to go and shop. There will also be a plethora of food and drink options available in the area that weekend.
St. Louis Blues Games
The Blues open up the home portion of their 2024-25 schedule, starting with a game against the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 15. The team also welcomes the New York Islanders on Oct. 17, the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 19 and the Winnipeg Jets on Oct. 22. Tickets can be purchased on blues.com.
City SC Games
St. Louis’ MLS team, City SC, will conclude their 2024 schedule this month with two home games, each of which can be attended by buying tickets on stlcitysc.com. On Oct. 2, the team welcomes LAFC at 9:30 p.m., and Minnesota Untied FC at 8 p.m. on Oct. 19.
