23-year-old Qineya Dyamond Dunlap was a daughter, a friend, a student, an Aquarius, a graduate, a content creator, and the CEO of the graphic design company TechneylogyGFX.
Dunlap graduated from Harris Stowe State University with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics in May of 2024. She began taking graduate-level courses at both Lindenwood University and Saint Louis University to work towards her master’s in Accounting. Her mother told KSDK that Qineya was two weeks away from getting her master’s degree when she passed.
Qineya Dunlap enjoyed math and graphic design, describing herself as passionate and hard-working in her YouTube Vlogs. She liked to share bits of her life and journey as a woman in STEM and as a graphic designer. Her friends and family have all said she was an inspiration.
On December 4, Dunlap was driving when the car slid off Natural Bridge Road near Interstate 70. Police are unsure why the car slid, but it hit the base of a traffic light pole. The other person in the car that night is in the hospital but according to friends will make a full recovery.
Friends, family, and community all joined together the Sunday after her passing to release pink and red balloons in front of her home to remember her. Her loved ones are planning a celebration of life for later this month and are accepting donations to help cover the funeral costs.
The GoFundMe that her mother Qiana Dunlap set up says, “Qineya was flourishing and thriving at life when this unfortunate tragedy occurred. She was an inspiration to some and a friend to many.”
Lindenwood University mourns the loss of one of their students. In an email sent out on December 10, the University said “We extend our sympathies to Qineya’s loved ones – friends, family, professors, and mentors.”
