The Lindenwood University Theatre Program is opening up with a two night production of Little Women. This two night event will take place at the Lindenwood Theatre on Friday Feb. 28th and Saturday March 1st both at 7:30 p.m.
Little Women is based on Louisa May Alcott’s 1868–69 semi-autobiographical two volume novel, it focuses on the four March sisters, traditional Meg, wild, aspiring writer Jo, Beth and romantic Amy at home in Concord, Massachusetts, while their father is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War. Intercut with the vignettes in which their lives unfold are several recreations of the melodramatic short stories Jo writes in her attic studio.
You can come out and support the people that are making this performance possible starting with the cast members. Kylie Gaunt as Jo March, Spencer Barr as Professor Bhaer,
Kymora Gentry as Amy March, Jintree Albers as Meg March, Liz Seiler as Beth March, Georgia Johnson as Marmee March, Van Kleppe as Mr. Lawrence, Hayden Kennison as Laurie Lawrence, Rachel Grossman as Ms. Kirk and Aunt March, and Richard Austin as Mr. John Brooke.
Another group of people that makes production like this happen is all of the stage crew and everyone else that is involved. We also want to give a special shoutout to set designer Stuart Hollis, Costume Designer DeAnna Rowe, Light Designer Ryan Luedloff, Sound Designer Kareem Deanes, Stage management Aeryn Richardson, Sarah Koenig, and Natalie Martin, and this will all be under the direction of Brett Kristofferson.
There will be other shows that the theatre program will be putting on this year, so make sure that you are aware of those dates. You can find those dates at LUBoxOffice.com.
This event is a really good opportunity to come out and support fellow students in doing what they love and are passionate about. If this is something that interests you, you can still grab tickets for tonight or tomorrows show by visiting LUBoxOffice.com, or by clicking this link
