Lindenwood women’s soccer goalkeeper Mary McGilvary had her third shutout only four games into the season during the team’s match against Missouri S&T.

The Lions took on the Miners in Hunter Stadium and ended the game in a 1-0 win, making the team’s season record 3-1-0.

The team’s one goal was shot by senior midfielder Alyssa Houck 75 minutes into the game.

During the first half of the game, the Lions managed to outshoot the Miners 12-1. Senior forward Becky Roberts led the team in the first half of the game with two shots on goal.

However, the score remained tied going into halftime.

During the second half of the game, each team had increased scoring opportunities. Missouri S&T had two shots on goal during the half with McGilvary stopping each at the net.

After McGilvary’s second save, the Lions moved down the field and set up an offensive attack. While inside the Miners’ goal box, Roberts gained possession of the ball and passed to Houck. Houck made her way to the goal, scoring the Lions’ winning point and earning her own first goal of the season.
