Homecoming and Reunion Week has arrived with many ways to celebrate as the Lions prepare for this weekend’s game against the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats. LU will also be hosting many activities for visiting alumni this weekend. Activities this week include:
Monday
S’mores Roast – LSGA presents the enjoyment of s’mores at the pavilion from 8-9 p.m.
Wednesday
The Upside of Down: Why Failing Well is the Key to Success – Author Megan McArdle will speak about her new book and its inspirational message in Young Auditorium at 8 p.m.
Lip Sync Dance Contest – Student organizations battle to put on the best fake musical performance from 7-8 p.m. at the Evans Commons Gym.
Thursday
Communication Through the Decades – a panel discussion regarding the progression of media over the past 40 years will take place in Young Auditorium from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Hypnotist Dan Ladd – The St. Louis-based comedian and master of hypnosis will peform at Butler Loft at 7 p.m.
Friday
Table Française – The French program will be hosting a table in the Spellmann Center Dining Hall to chat in the French language from 1-2 p.m.
Historic Campus Bus Tours – Three 45-minute bus tours are scheduled during the afternoon to explore LU’s campus. Each tour will meet at the Hyland Arena at 2, 3 and 3:45 p.m.
Dorm Tours – LU alumni will get a treat in revisiting their former living spaces from 2-3:30 p.m.
President’s House Tour for the Class of 1964 – A tour of President Evans’s on-campus house will be presented to LU’s class of 1964 that afternoon.
Alumni Fashion Showcase – The J. Scheidegger Center will present the talents of LU Fashion Design alumni and current fashion majors at 4-6 p.m.
Alumni and Parent Recption – Alumni and parents of current students are encouraged to meet at the VIP Room in Hyland Arena from 4-7 p.m.
Pep Rally – LU’s traditional catalyst for school spirit and gametime excitement, featuring appearances by all fall sports teams and the LU marching band, at Hyland Arena.
Reunion Dinner for the Class of 1964 – Alumni willl celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation from LU at Miss Aimee Be’s Tea Room that evening.
Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner – Alumni and sports fans in general are invited to witness the induction of LU’s seventh class of exemplary athletes into the Lidenwood Athletic Hall of Fame.
“Heaven Can Wait” – Lindenwood’s Theatre Department will open their rendition of Harry Segall’s 1938 fantasy “Heaven Can Wait” at the Black Box Theatre in the J. Scheidegger Center tonight and will run for two weekends.
Willie Nelson & Family – The counrty icon, joined by his kin, wll perform his sold out show at the Lindenwood Theatre in the J. Scheidegger Center.
Saturday
“Race to be King” – LU’s annual Homecoming 5K Run and Walk will take place that morning.
Reunion and Parade – LU will prepare for the Homecoming game Saturday morning with the annual parade, featuring floats, the cheerleaders, the marching band and more, as it travels througout campus.
Johnny Chase – The local artist will perform at the Alumni Gazebo.
Student Dance – LU students will attend the annual Homecoming Dance in the Evans Commons Dining Hall from 8-11:30 p.m.
