The multi-purpose court in Evans Commons gave hospitality to Greek Life’s event “Greeks Debunked,” which was created to enlighten attendees about myths and cliches surrounding sororities and fraternities at Lindenwood University. All of the ten people who sat in attendance were members of Greek Life.
Using the popular video games “Trivia Crack” and “Mario Kart,” Greek Life wanted to show that Greeks are not drinkers or unintelligent.
“We have ‘Trivia Crack’ and it’s purpose is to show that the Greek myth of Greeks being stupid is not true,” said Greta Perez, director of programming at Greek Life. “We also have ‘Mario Kart’ with beer goggles because people think that we drink and we want to show that we don’t.”
A video was shown featuring Greeks and Christopher Miofsky, assistant director of Student Life & Leadership, giving personal testimonies about their ways of life to show students what Greek life is really about.
