Five reasons to leave your dorm: Concerts, Festivals

All throughout the year, Main Street St. Charles has various activities to do. This week, that includes live music by Butch Wax and the Hollywoods on Wednesday.

Fall is right around the corner, which means that cooler weather is approaching.  

As the weather gets cooler, school increases in difficulty as assignments and exams begin to pile up. College can be stressful, that is why having a few hours to relax and think about something other than homework can be much needed for some students.

Here are five reasons to leave the dorm this week.

Music On Main

On Wednesday, Sept. 15, Butch Wax and the Hollywoods is going to have a free outdoor concert on Main Street from 5 p.m to 7:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. 

Augusta Harvest Festival

The Augusta Harvest Festival will begin on Sept. 17 with fall activities such as a picnic, a ride on a pumpkin wagon, or a dance under the stars to a live band. Tickets can be bought by calling 636-228-4005. 

Mosaics Fine Art Festival

From Sept. 17 to Sept. 19, the Mosaics Fine Art Festival will welcome approximately 100 artists from more than 15 states to exhibit artwork on Main Street. This event will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

New Town Concert Series

On Sept. 18, Gospel “Larry Gerst & Friends” will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the New Town Amphitheater.

Renaissance Festival

From Sept. 18 to Sept. 19, the Saint Louis Renaissance Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rotary Park in Wentzville. Shops, music, comedy, magic, food  and activities for a trip back in time in the 16th century in a French Village called the Petit Lyon.
