Campus events to look forward to: September edition

Every semester, Lindenwood makes sure that students have many opportunities to stay involved, have fun, and attend events where they can meet new people and enjoy college life to the fullest.

Taking a break from classes, homework, and responsibilities is important throughout the semester, especially in the beginning.

Many students spent a classes-free and homework-free summer, which made getting back into the habit of studying challenging. During the on-campus events, students can recharge and take that so-needed break from studying.

This month, some of the events include Floral Friday, Family Day, BSU movie night, and more.

Here are some of the events to look forward to in September:

1. Catholic Student Union Backyard Bash

Date: Thursday, Sept. 1, 5 – 7 p.m.

Location: Evans Commons Lawn

Hosted by CSU, this event is an opportunity for all students to meet new people and find a community, as well as enjoy yard games, line dancing, and snow cones.

2. Black Student Union Movie Night

Date: Thursday, Sept. 1, 7- 10 p.m.

Location: LARC Theater

This movie night is hosted by BSU where students will be watching the Netflix original film “Bruised” directed by and starring Halle Berry.

3. International Student Fellowship Labor Day picnic

Date: Monday, Sept. 5, 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Location: Creve Coeur Park

ISF is welcoming everyone to join for Labor Day Picnic for food, games, and walking trails. This event is open to all students. Transportation to and from the event is available for those who need a ride. For more information and a sign-up sheet, click here.

4. Floral Friday with CAB

Date: Friday, Sept. 9, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: LARC Grove

Campus Activities Board dedicates this day to making students happy. CAB gives out flowers to students that are interested in LARC Grove.

5. Touring Series: Michael Bolton

Date: Friday, Sept. 9, 8 p.m.

Location: The Lindenwood Theater

Lindenwood’s J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts opens the touring season with Michael Bolton, the Grammy Award-winning singer, and songwriter. Bolton has written songs for famous artists like Bob Dylan and Lady Gaga. For information and tickets purchase, click here.

6. Family Day 2022

Date: Saturday, Sept. 17

Location: Lindenwood University

Family Day is an annual event where students and their families can spend time together and enjoy a variety of activities. Parents, siblings, and extended family members will have an opportunity to have a campus tour, attend a fine arts performance, attend a football game, and many more. 7. Rush Week: Bid Day

Date: Saturday, Sept. 17, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: Harmon Hall – Dunseth Auditorium, Harmon Hall 136, Pavilion

“Rush Week: Bid Day” is hosted by Interfraternity Council. This is a congratulatory event and the signing of the potential new member bids.
