Pride St. Louis announced Tuesday morning that the Anheuser-Busch company will be ending their 30-year partnership with the PrideFest event.
Pride St. Louis would also go on record this morning expressing their sadness over losing such a major sponsor. The festival is currently scheduled to take place on June 28-29 at Soldiers Memorial Park. Currently, the festival is facing a $150,000 deficit in funding from previous years.
PrideFest has been one of St. Louis’s largest parades to help kick off a whole weekend of festivities within downtown. The president of Pride St. Louis, Marty Zuniga, hopes that the community will step up in the absence of Anheuser-Busch’s support. Pride St. Louis is also looking to fix the budget for the festival to make sure that it can still have some life within the coming months.
They are also launching a fundraising campaign called #45 for 45 which commemorates 45 years of advocacy for the LGBTQIA community.
