Presidential debates will be live streamed in Young Auditorium

The Presidential and Vice-Presidential Debates will be live streamed in Young Hall Auditorium to all of those who are interested.

Sponsored by the Gender Studies Program, Lindenwood Film Series, Department of Public Affairs and Administration and the Philosophy Department, the screenings of debates run through next Monday Sept. 26 to Friday Oct. 19 , Chair for the Department of Philosophy David S. Brown said.

Monday, September 26, 2016
First presidential debate
Moderator: Lester Holt, Anchor, NBC Nightly News
Location: Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY

Divided into six segments of 15 minutes on each major topic picked by the moderator a week before. Segments are opened with a question and then both candidates have two minutes to respond. Then candidates can respond to each other.

Vice presidential debate
Moderator: Elaine Quijano, Anchor, CBSN and Correspondent, CBS News
Location: Longwood University, Farmville, VA

Divided into nine 10-minute segments. The moderator starts with a question and candidates respond for two minutes.

Second presidential debate
Moderator: Martha Raddatz, Chief Global Affairs Correspondent and Co-Anchor of “This Week,” ABC
Moderator: Anderson Cooper, Anchor, CNN
Location: Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO

The second Presidential debate is done in a form of a town meeting. Half of the questions come straight from the citizen participants and the other half is asked my the moderator covering topics of public interest as posed in social media and other sources. The candidates have two minutes to respond and one minute for the moderator’s further question. The citizen participants are uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization.

Third presidential debate
Moderator: Chris Wallace, Anchor, Fox News Sunday
Location: University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV

The third presidential debate will be identical in a form with the first debate.

The run-down of the debates will start with the live-stream of the first presidential debate next Monday Sept. 26 at at 8:00-9:30 p.m. at Young Hall auditorium.
