Tables lined an area on the upper floor of the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts as part of the Grand Art Bazaar, a bi-annual art sale organized by the Art History Association.

This is the first time the event has been held on-campus.

Hannah Schmickley, President of the Art History Association, served as the host of the bazaar.

“This is an opportunity for students to sell their work, it gives them a good opportunity to learn how to sell themselves,” Schmickley said.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the bazaar.

“You could be a science major and come sell your art here,” Schmickley said. “It doesn’t really matter what you study.”

Not only is the bazaar a good showcase for student’s talents, it also serves as an environment to practice selling their art as professionals.

“It is important to know how to sell art because one day [art students] are going to go out and sell their work professionally,” Schmickley said. “This is a nice little stepping stone.”

All kinds of art lined the tables, including charcoal drawings, graphic designs modge-podged onto kitchen tile, buttons, posters and photography.

The Grand Art Bazaar is held near the ends of the fall and spring semesters.
