Oktoberfest, one of the biggest events in St. Charles County
Steins are sold at 75 percent off the last day of Oktoberfest on Sept. 30. Steins are an old English term for a large beer mug, usually made out of stoneware.

The German holiday, Oktoberfest brings out big crowds in Frontier Park to drink from beer steins and be immersed in the culture from Sept. 28-30.
The festival is celebrated at the end of September traditionally to welcome in the month of October. Over the weekend events such as a 5k and 10k race, brat eating contest, wiener dog race and beer stein holding competition were held.
In 2017, the festival was voted Best of St. Charles County by readers in the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
