Brrr! It’s been awfully cold in Saint Charles lately. But that’s no excuse not to bundle up and have some fun! I’ve curated some unique events happening both on and off campus, so hopefully you’ll discover something that fancies you!

In this week’s lineup, we’ve got music, free food, yoga, and Galentine’s Day! There’s always something for everyone. Have a great week Lions!

 

  1. Bump, Set, Spike in Hyland!

This week the lions are stepping out of the den for a week jam-packed with sports. Hyland Arena will be booming as Men’s Volleyball spikes out onto the court. Meanwhile, both DI and DII Men’s Hockey, as well as Women’s Hockey will be skating into Centene Ice Center for some energized games! Show your lion pride at the following events of the week:

2.      Warm up at Winter Jam 2020!

Sunday, Feb. 9 | 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | St. Charles Family Arena

Winter Jam, which is hallmarked annually by its musical diversity, is coming to St. Louis this weekend. Heat up your soul at the Family Arena with a wide variety of Christian music; from Crowder, Hillsong Young & Free, Andy Mineo, and many more awesome artists! Special guest speaker Zane Black will also be performing! There is a $15 donation required for entrance.

3.       Munch and Mingle with CAB this Monday

Monday, Feb. 10 | 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | AB Leadership Room, Spellmann Center

This week on campus, CAB is hosting Diversity Week. They’re kicking off the festivities with a free event in Spellmann! Meet the members of CAB as you ‘mingle’ with peers and ‘munch’ some free snacks. Meet new people at this fun event!

4.       Spread your wings at the Butterfly House

Tuesday, Feb. 11 | 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House

If you loved yoga under the Arch, you’ll love this opportunity even more! Enjoy an hour-long, all-levels yoga class at the Butterfly House. Beginners are welcome, and encouraged to join. Class will be held indoors, and students are invited to a pre-practice meditative stroll through our Conservatory to see the beautiful butterflies.

Doors open at 6pm to visit the Conservatory – yoga begins at 6:30pm. Class is $15 for members/$18 for general public and includes yoga and pre-yoga class access to the Conservatory. Please bring a yoga mat or towel if you have one.

5.     Who needs love, when you’ve got shopping!

Thursday, Feb. 13 | 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | St. Charles Historic District

Grab your friends and come down for an afternoon of shopping and dining on Main Street! Many shops and restaurants are offering special discounts and pricing, complementary chocolates or cookies for girlfriends to enjoy “Galentines” Day. This is the second annual event on St. Charles Historic Main Street! Look for a RED HEART posted in the windows of participating shops the day of the event!
