Women’s volleyball falls to Illinois Springfield

Freshman Taylor Gentemann broke the school record in kills as the Lions fell to Illinois Springfield Friday night 3-1 .

The first set was close, with junior Mackenzi Sifuentes and Gentemann leading the Lions with five points each.

The Lions tried to come up with a win in the second set, but they weren’t able to keep the lead. They  managed to pull away with the third set, but they came up short in the fourth 26-28.

Gentemann had 24 kills in the match, the most in a single-game in program history. Sifuentes trailed behind with 12 kills and 14 total points. 

The Lions will play at home again against the University of Southern Indiana on Saturday Nov. 6 at 3 p.m.
