Men’s basketball earns double-digit win against William Jewell

With consistent scoring from junior guard Kevin Caldwell Jr., the men’s basketball team defeated  William Jewell 72-60 Thursday night.

The Lions got off to a strong start in the first half, maintaining a five-point lead. They were consistent in retrieving rebounds, collecting a total of 22. 

Caldwell Jr. went 7-for-8 from the field to extend the Lions’ lead to double digits in the second half. William Jewell attempted to keep the game close, but the Lions contained its 10-point lead. 

Caldwell finished the game with 25 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Senior forward Romelo Burrell finished with another double-double, with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Jacoby Ross produced 12 points, two rebounds, and three assists. 

The Lions will host Truman State University this Saturday at 3 p.m.
