Despite finishing with 23 wins in 2021, the Lindenwood softball team was still not satisfied with their finish to the season.

In 2022, a new coaching staff including former Truman State head coach Erin Brown has the team ready to become a threat for the GLVC title.

“We’d love to win a conference championship,” Brown said. “To me, I also hope we put ourselves in a position to make it to the NCAA Tournament so hopefully if we’re getting the wins that we can get and taking care of those things, I think that they have that opportunity in front of them and if we can capitalize on some of these wins early.”

The players have high expectations for the season as well.

“I think our mentality that just getting into conference isn’t enough,” catcher Kayla Scholz said, “we want to go all the way.”

The Lions home opener is on March 3 against the Ohio Dominican Panthers.
