The schedule for Lindenwood football’s first season at the NCAA Division I level is yet to officially be released, but some of the team’s opponents have been announced.

Each of the following games were found on the opposing university’s football schedules.

The Lions will head down to Houston Baptist University and visit the Huskies in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 10. Houston Baptist is a member of the Division I Southland Conference and are coming off an 0-11 season in 2021.

Lindenwood will then travel to the University of Tennessee at Martin on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Ohio Valley Conference, or OVC, play. The game will be the Skyhawks’ first in conference play.

The Lions will come home the following week to host Southeast Missouri State University, or SEMO, on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Hunter Stadium. This will be SEMO’s first OVC game of the 2022 campaign.

Lindenwood will go back out on the road the following week, when they take on Central Arkansas University in Conway, Arkansas. The Bears are in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, Lindenwood will stay on the road to face Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. The game will not count in the OVC standings, according to the conference. Eastern Illinois went 1-10 last season and 1-5 in OVC play.

Lindenwood’s next home game will be on Saturday, Oct. 22, vs. Murray State University.

In November, the Lions will take on Tennessee Tech University on Saturday, Nov. 5, in Cookeville, Tennessee. The Golden Eagles finished the 2021 season with a 3-8 record overall and were 1-5 in OVC play.

The Lions will return home to face a familiar foe in McKendree University on Saturday, Nov. 12. Lindenwood and McKendree have faced each other twice in the last three years as members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference at the Division II level, with the Lions winning both of the two games.

More details regarding the 2022 schedule will be included as they become available.
