The Lindenwood softball team has exceeded expectations through the opening portion of the season.

Lindenwood currently holds a record of 26-6 overall, including an 18-game winning streak from Feb. 27 to March 27.

“I think our leadership has been really great and we’ve had good balance of kids throughout the program from freshman to seniors, contributing each day,” head coach Erin Brown said. “Even if they’re not out there every day, they’re working hard and competing, but our leadership has been steady and has provided great presence out on the field.”

The team has high expectations for themselves, from the coaching staff down to the players.

“I think this team is very determined,” pitcher Amanda Weyh said. “We come out and show it and I think we keep pushing ourselves at practice, doing the little things correctly, focusing on just putting in the hard work is going to pay off in the end.”

Lindenwood isn’t back at home until the end of April when they face off against No. 5 Indianapolis on April 30 and No. 20 Southern Indiana on May 1.
