Four Lindenwood sports teams have found new homes over the summer.

Lindenwood officially announced its membership in three new conferences: The ASUN, Summit League, and Horizon League.

The Lindenwood Men’s and Women’s lacrosse teams announced membership in the ASUN conference. This move will allow both teams to compete at a high level of competition against the best lacrosse teams in the NCAA.

Lindenwood lacrosse will compete against division opponents Jacksonville University (Florida), Mercer University, United States Air Force Academy, Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Robert Morris, and Utah.

The Summit League announced the membership of the Lindenwood Men’s Soccer and men’s and women’s diving programs at the conference. Lindenwood will compete against the universities of Denver, Missouri-Kansas City, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, St Thomas, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Western Illinois.

Men’s soccer has posted impressive wins over the past few years, gaining national attention and multiple national all-American honors. Men’s and women’s swim and dive programs have won multiple regional championships, with additional individual national championships.

The Ohio Valley Conference recently announced a ground-breaking partnership with the Horizon League to enhance men’s tennis competition within the NCAA. This new partnership allows members of both leagues to compete in the OVC-Horizon League joint conference championship, which will be an automatic qualifier for the NCAA National Championship.

“The creative solution provides an outlet for our student-athletes to compete at the highest level,” said Vice President for Intercollegiate athletics Jason Coomer. “This innovative approach puts the student-athlete first and we couldn’t be happier to partner with our Horizon League colleagues.”

These moves will allow student-athletes in their respective sports to perform to their highest potential.
