This weekend the Lions will get a chance to set the record for most wins in a season in the NCAA era at Lindenwood. The Lions teams in 2012 and 2015 both recorded 15 wins.

The Lions currently sit fifth in the MIAA conference standings with nine games remaining in the season. Eight teams qualify for the tournament and the Lions could edge closer to qualifying for the first time in history with victories this weekend.

Central Oklahoma has been dominant this year, they currently sit atop the MIAA conference standings with an 8-1 conference record.

On the other hand, Pittsburg State has only managed three victories all year and none in conference play. The Gorillas last win came over a month ago on Sept. 14 when they defeated Southwestern Oklahoma.

Head Coach Will Condon praised the team’s effort and commitment.

“This group has worked incredibly hard to improve as the season has progressed,” said Condon. “Whenever we have had a set back they have come back to the gym ready to improve.” he said.
