The Battlehawks’ week five show-off against the Orlando Storm was everything we expected from this game. Not only was it the long-awaited matchup against the former St. Louis Coach Anthony Becht, but it was also coming off the heels of a blockbuster Quarterback trade that some people were thinking would spell the end of Harrison Frosts starting tenure.
That would quickly be proven false as Harrison Frost had a statement game to show why Coach Proehl further his trust with the young QB. This game took the prime Saturday slot and was right on the tail end of the NFL draft, so it allowed for a full football packed weekend with tons of action.
The big thing to note here was that the stats were all stacked against St. Louis going into this matchup. The Sportsbooks and analysts were both on Orlando’s side, with the undefeated record, and St. Louis coming off an unfortunate win.
St. Louis though would take complete control in the first half with scoring 18 in the first half leaving Orlando scoreless and only 22 yards on the offense. This is something that no other team has been able to accomplishso far this season and something that no one expected St. Louis to set the tone on.
Orlando would retaliate in the second quarter by scoring 17 to St. Louis’s seven in the back half. Thankfully St. Louis stalled their last-ditcheffort at a come back and would walk away with a 25-17 win against the Orlando Storm and hand them their first loss of the season and would further cement that there will be no more chances at an undefeated season at least this year.
There were still some issues to clean up near the end of the game, but the Battlehawks finished strong. Coach Proehl would cement that further in the post-game presser that they need to just “Trust the process and trust the system” that has carried them to where they are now currently in the season. With this week five result, the Battlehawks move to 3-2 and look forward to week six and the luring playoffs.
The Battlehawks play next against the Louisville Kings on Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky and on the FS1 Network.
