Lindenwood was to welcome ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Thursday, Oct. 9, but the ambassador had to cancel due to complications at the embassy.

Elin Suleymanov, was to speak about “Changing Dynamics of Eurasia and Azerbaijan”.

Lindenwood’s Center for International and Global Studies organizes a speaker series every year and Suleymanov’s appearance was to be the second of the series this year.

“He is a career diplomat who will be sharing his experience in the international arena and discussing the current state of geopolitics in the Republic of Azerbaijan and Eurasia,” said Ryan Guffey, Vice President for Student Development and Global Affairs.

According to Lindenwood’s website, the Center for International and Global Studies “provides faculty and students with both research and study opportunities abroad” and “assists in supporting faculty and student exchange in many different countries and societies throughout the world.”

The event is to be rescheduled with a possible date in mid November.

This speaker will be an opportunity for students who are interested to learn more about affairs and global studies in Eurasia.

“Given that Eurasia buttresses Russia and Europe, his presentation will provide timely insight into the dynamics between those two powers,” says Guffey.
