Now that Halloween is over, it is Thanksgiving time. Though there are not really any movies that revolve around Thanksgiving as a holiday. With the high demand for Christmas, movies centered around the holidays lean more towards Christmas and ignore Thanksgiving. This month’s ‘What to Watch’ is strictly based on Thanksgiving, because it is just too soon for Christmas.

The following movies are considered classic Thanksgiving movies that are perfect for family get-togethers:

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is about Charlie brown planning to go to his grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving, but Peppermint Patty gets the gang together to go to his house. Snoopy and Woodstock make a dinner, but it is not much of a Thanksgiving meal, so everyone is eventually invited to Charlie Brown’s Grandmother’s house for a ‘real meal.’ This movie centers around the themes of friendship and thankfulness for being together with the ones you love.

Garfield’s Thanksgiving

Garfield is a cat that loves to eat, so when his vet puts him on a diet when Thanksgiving is just around the corner, he has a plan to eat all he can. When Jon invites Liz to Thanksgiving dinner, Garfield fakes being sick just to get off the diet his vet gave him. Since Jon cannot cook, his grandma comes over and cooks a lot of food, which is good for Garfield because that means he gets to eat a lot of food.

Thanksgiving is a gory, old-school slasher movie with a modern twist. One year after a disastrous Black Friday, and masked killer is on the loose and is terrorizing the town of Plymouth. One by one, the killer picks off each of its victims, with every one of them being survivors of the Black Friday Riot the year before.

This next movie is a controversial topic; it questions the audience just like Die Hard does about Christmas. It’s action-packed with a theme of, ‘family isn’t always blood.’

Four Brothers

Four Brothers is based around four adoptive brothers: a rising musician, Jack, a former marine, Angel, a hockey player, Bobby, and husband and father Jeremiah. They all come back to their childhood home for their adoptive mother’s funeral. They all suspected that it was not just a random crime. While trying to figure out who killed their mother, local police officers are trailing them.
