The UFL is starting to really kick off with advertising and outreach, which is a far cry from what they were even at their high point last year. Whether it is through ads on your social media or commercial spots during the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, they are very much trying to engage with the fans this year. This is abundantly clear by looking at owner Mike Repole’s X feed and what he shares relating to the UFL. Well, on Jan. 17, he made a shocking post, not only praising the league so far, but also sharing some rather “sensitive” information.
He started by stating, “Huge momentum at the UFL. three new teams, five new venues, six new coaches, new players, new helmets. Schedules and single-game tickets drop Jan. 22.” Just sharing this is enough to make the UFL fan base go into a frenzy, but he would continue his dramatic post. “Only holdup??? Uniforms. Early February reveal. Yes……it sucks. As a co-owner, I’ve seen the confidential uniform sketches. As an owner, I’m strongly encouraging those uniform sketches to stay confidential!” He would cap off the post with the emoji character that is winking and sticking his tongue out. Then, right underneath it all was an art sketch of 8 different players wearing the possible new uniforms for the upcoming 2026 season and beyond.
They are not anything special from last year, except for the obvious exceptions with the new teams. The biggest difference is the Stallions going from a mostly red/maroon uniform to a gold uniform with a broader red accent on the helmet. That has drawn plenty of kickback from the fan base, but I think it is important to note that these are just early sketches and not the final product. As for your St. Louis Battlehawks, it looks as though it is business as usual for them. Other than a third tweak to the helmet feathers, where they took one away and put them on the helmet like it is over-accentuated eyeliner, the Battlehawks look as though they have the same royal blue uniforms with white accents near the shoulder.
We are still a few weeks away from the formal reveal, but if this is to be believed, the uniforms this year are going to be interesting to see, either from a fan or a critic perspective.
