With graduation happening here at Lindenwood that means another batch of seniors is ready to walk across the stage and walk into their next phase of their life leaving behind the chapter that is college.
Within the class of 2025 seniors here at Lindenwood include two young men who not only leave college but also leave their duties and roles at LindenLink: Josh Calloni and Lucas Dalton.
Dalton, a senior communication major with an emphasis in broadcasting, stepped in as editor-in-chief during the final 10 weeks of the spring 2025 semester, succeeding Jia Buck. Known primarily for his sports coverage and photography, Dalton also contributed culture stories when needed.
“I think it was just getting to know everybody and seeing what they were good at,” Dalton said. “Helping out anywhere I could, that’s what I’ll miss most.”
Though Dalton began his time at Lindenlink as a writer, his passion shifted.
“I really liked writing at first, and then I started taking pictures, and that’s what I fell in love with,” Dalton said.
Dalton plans to continue writing remotely for fan websites and hopes to expand his photography work over the summer.
Calloni, who served as editor-in-chief from August to December 2024 before graduating, spent three years with Lindenlink. He remained active behind the scenes this spring, mentoring younger staff members and photographing events.
“All the friends I made at Lindenwood were from Lindenlink,” Calloni said, a senior communications major with an emphasis in journalism. “It was the biggest part of my college experience.”
Calloni originally joined Lindenlink for its writing opportunities, but, like Dalton, discovered a deeper love for sports photography.
“Writing is why I came to Lindenwood, but taking pictures is why I enjoyed it,” he said. “There are so many interesting things that happen at sporting events here — it’s more immersive.”
While Calloni admitted that parts of the editor role could be repetitive or stressful, he said the creative control made it worthwhile. “It was fun to be in charge and to have my ideas put into place,” he said.
Looking ahead, Calloni hopes to continue his work in the world of NASCAR, whether that is taking pictures or getting a chance to write or both.
As both editors close this chapter, they leave behind not only strong portfolios but a legacy of mentorship and passion that helped shape Lindenlink’s direction.
“Roar Lions Roar,” Calloni said.
