Lindenwood’s student body has been working on improving the university’s methods and ways to help the environment by better recycling methods and making the campus more green.

The latest development was the goal to apply for a recycling grant entitled District Waste Reduction and
Recycling Grant Program to raise money to support this case. LSGA senator Samuel Rudloff has been working on this grant and has high hopes that it will make a change on this campus.

“Lindenwood already has a recycling method, but it needs a boost of green energy. This grant will enhance the recycling methods on campus by raising quantity of recyclables, reducing waste, and help save the earth,” says Rudloff.

Rudloff, a member of the LU Recycle Grant Committee, expects this project to make a big difference. “The goal for this grant is to add a minimum of $30,000 worth of assets that will reduce waste and promote recycling methods. The ideal is to give students and faculty more opportunities to part take in recycling to make Lindenwood more green.”

Anyone wishing to get involved in this cause and help improve this campus has two options to get involved. Students can join the LU Recycle Grant Committee, as any “volunteers that are passionate for keeping the earth green” are always welcome, according to Rudloff. Also, any suggestions or ideas that will promote waste management can always be emailed to Rudloff at [email protected].

Meetings of the LU Recycle Grant Committee are held every Wednesday after the LSGA meetings, about 4:30 p.m., at the Dunseth Auditorium at Harmon Hall and are open to anyone interested to help or receive more information.
