Fort Hays State (10-2, 4-2 MIAA) women’s center Kate Lehman added to her basketball resume Thursday night with a triple-double as the Tigers beat Lindenwood (8-6, 3-4 MIAA) 99-76 in Hays, Kan.

Lehman had the second triple-double in Fort Hays women’s basketball history. She finished the game with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Lindenwood head coach Tony Francis said Lehman had an impact on LU’s offense, and LU freshman guard Kassidy Gengenbacher was the only player who got to the basket the way he wanted.

“She attacked the hole really well,” Francis said. “Took it up through her chin. Found herself at the line quite a bit, and I thought Kassidy had a really nice game for us.”

Gengenbacher was five-for-nine from the floor and nine-of-10 from the free throw line with 20 points in 33 minutes.

Two Tigers besides Lehman scored in double-figures. Senior guard Katelyn Edwards had 16 points while sophomore guard Chelsea Mason led all scorers with 25 points. She was three-of-seven from behind the arc.

The Lions never led. The loss is LU’s third straight and Lindenwood came within a point of giving up triple digit points for the first time since 2008.

LU is off until Wednesday when it travels to Joplin, Mo. to take on Missouri Southern.
