St. Charles City Police Department Public information officer Chad Fisk said the incident has not been reported to St. Charles Police.

“We have no knowledge of it,” Fisk said.

Campus authorities are investigating a report of a sexual assault in Guffey Hall early Wednesday morning.

Lindenwood’s Public Safety & Security was notified about the incident in the men’s dorm around 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to the crime alert email sent to students and faculty after 8 a.m. today.

Director of Public Safety & Security John Bowman said the victim of the alleged sexual assault is a Lindenwood student, but he declined to confirm the gender of the victim.

According to the email, the perpetrator was described as a 19-22-year-old white male who is known to the victim.

The incident reportedly happened between Sept. 12-13, but an exact time hasn’t been confirmed.

Bowman declined to say whether the St. Charles Police Department is involved in the investigation.

However, he said Public Safety & Security officers will start interviewing people and may release more information by the end of the week.

Anyone who has any information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Office of Public Safety & Security at 636-949-4911.
