Five reasons to leave your dorm this week

Here are five things to do this week on Lindenwood’s campus and around St. Charles during finals week. 

1. Study for finals in Butler Loft. 
Monday, Dec. 11 – Thursday, Dec. 14 from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 15 from 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Butler Loft

Butler Loft on Lindenwood’s historic side of campus has been converted to a group study area. The renovated space now holds 12 computers and a printing station as well as tables and chairs for group work, according to the Weekly Roar.

2. Unwind from the first day of finals at CAB’s Late Night Breakfast. 
Monday, Dec. 11
10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Spellmann Center Dining Hall

Enjoy eating breakfast foods late at night with Campus Activities Board. The event will feature a live DJ, candy bar, ugly sweater contest, photo booth, eating contest, prizes, t-shirts and other giveaways.

3. Enjoy some free “Finals Week Survival Fuel” at Midwest BankCentre.
Tuesday, Dec. 12
9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
1820 1st Capitol Dr, St Charles, MO

Midwest BankCentre across the street from campus is offering free hot chocolate, coffee and donuts to help students destress during final exams. For more information and to read some finals week reminders for success, click here.

4. Celebrate the end of finals week by meeting Santa’s reindeer.  
Saturday, Dec. 16 – Sunday, Dec. 17
3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site
200 S. Main St., Saint Charles, MO

Santa’s friends from the North Pole are here to help you forget about finals and remind you of the Christmas season. You can meet the reindeer, take photos with them and hear stories about their adventures this weekend. More information on this event can be found here

5. Enjoy songs of the season with five R&B artists.
Saturday, Dec. 16
8 p.m.
Lindenwood’s J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts

Rhythm and blues artists Peabo Bryson, Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis Jr., Ruben Studdard and Jody Watley will take the stage at the Lindenwood Theater to perform their show “The Colors of Christmas.” Tickets can be purchased here or at the Box Office in Scheidegger.
