Five reasons to leave your dorm this week

The first week back from spring break might be rough, having to get out of bed early and sit in class for the last six weeks of the semester. If you find yourself in need to get up and out of your dorm, here are five things you could do.

1. Engage in Nerf Battlefront combat with Lindenwood’s Nerf Alliance. 
Monday, March 19: Informational meetings at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Tuesday, March 20 – Thursday, March 22: Gameplay

Lindenwood University’s Nerf Alliance is hosting a three-day competition titled Nerf Battlefront: Cold War Space Race on March 20-22. Two informational meetings will be held on March 19 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Spellmann 3015. For more information on this event, click here.

2. Enjoy an “Evening of Illusion” with CAB. 
Friday, March 23
7:30 p.m.
Evans Commons Dining Hall

Trent James, a comedy magician, will perform his illusions and tricks for students on Friday. A nacho bar will be available and the first 50 students to arrive will receive a free USB hub. This event is hosted by Lindenwood’s Campus Activities Board. Click here for more information. 

3. Join the Mathematics Club for photos with the Easter Bunny.  
Saturday, March 24
1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Heritage side of campus

Lindenwood’s Mathematics Club will have a photo booth open during the Resident Hall Association’s Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. Visit the booth for a photo with the Easter Bunny. More information can be found here.

4. Take a trip to the zoo with fellow Lindenwood students. 
Saturday, March 24
11 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
Hyland parking lot departure at 10:30 a.m.

Sign up at the Office of Student Involvement to take a trip to the St. Louis Zoo. Transportation will be provided for the first 10 students who sign up. A $5 is required for pick-up and drop-off. For more information, visit the Office of Student Involvement or click here.

5. Get some comic books and graphic novels during Justin’s Comics Spring Sale Event.   
Saturday, March 24 from noon – 8 p.m. 
Sunday, March 25 from noon – 5 p.m.
Justin’s Comics, 500 South 5th Street, St. Charles

Justin’s Comics is having a spring sale event with deals including 50 percent off of everything in the store and 60 percent off of graphic novels. There will be free food on Saturday morning and free coffee throughout the day. Comic artists will also be in store for demonstrations and information about comics.
