A previous Lindenlink article mentioned a possible measles exposure in Kirkwood and Chesterfield on March 13 and 14.

The potential exposure in Kirkwood occurred at the Magic House and Racanelli’s Pizzeria and at the Homewood Suites in Chesterfield.

According to Fredrick Echols at the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, no measles cases were reported in the days following the possible exposures.

There is no medical treatment for measles, and Sheila Nolan, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York, said doctor’s visits are dangerous because a nearby person without a vaccine could contract the virus. Fever-reducing medication, rest and staying hydrated are the recommended treatments.
