CAB’s Spring Fling week has different, fun and free events each day this week.

With the school year quickly coming to an end, the Campus Activities Board has put together a week of events for students to enjoy before the stresses of finals week arrive.

On Monday, CAB has worked with Marcus Theatres to show the movie “Shazam!” for free to Lindenwood students. All students need to get in is their Lindenwood student ID. The movie starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 10 p.m. All students will get a complimentary 64-ounce popcorn and 20-ounce drink.

The movie is first come first serve so CAB encourages students to come early to ensure a seat.

“I think it’s going to get the attention of a lot of people just because it’s kind of in that Marvel theme, but also a comedy,” said Alexis Crowell, one of the CAB coordinators who put together Spring Fling week.

Tuesday will be the last day to buy discounted Cardinals game tickets and have the chance to be entered into a raffle. The tickets will be sold from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Spellmann. According to Haley Cluck, another CAB coordinator in charge of Spring Fling week, there are very few tickets remaining.

Students who have bought tickets will be entered into a drawing for Cardinals gift baskets and four field passes to allow students to go onto the field at the game.

There are multiple events planned for Wednesday. Game Time Entertainment will have a mobile gaming bus on campus at 4 p.m. in front of Evans Commons. The bus has three TVs on the inside and three on the outside.

According to Crowell, there will be interactive, competitive games on the outside and more player versus player games on the inside. Students will be allowed to request games. There will also be a Qdoba taco and nacho bar outside of the bus.

After the gaming bus is Rock the Block from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be a live band, games, inflatables, food and giveaways every hour. The event is being host by CAB, Residential Life and Student Involvement in Evans Commons Lawn.

According to CAB, in the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to Evans Commons gym.

On Thursday, CAB will be hosting its first annual CAB Ops. According to Cluck, the event is similar to capture the flag. It will be a competition between faculty, staff and students. The goal is for students to gather as many glowsticks as possible while faculty and staff are guarding them with water guns and water balloons.

Students should come in teams of, at most, six. At the end of the night, the team with the most glow sticks wins. Each team member from the winning team will win a hammock and a $60 Fandango gift card. The team as a whole will also receive a large trophy.

“I am really excited about this event because it’s a good opportunity for faculty, staff and students to see each other outside of the classroom and outside of professional settings,” Cluck said.

The event will take place on the quad on the Old Side of campus from 8 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The last day, Friday, students will be able to play with baby animals at the Spring Babies petting zoo from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Evans Commons Lawn. There will also be a flower truck where students can make flower bouquets for free.
