St. Charles, MO, is about to welcome a spooktacular night at Lindenwood University’s campus as the annual Dark Carnival returns Friday, Oct. 17th, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm. The Heritage side of campus will get a little darker as they transform Lindenwood’s campus into a Halloween celebration full of tricks, treats, and fill the air with Lindenwood spirit.
Hosted by Advancement and Community Engagement alongside Lindenwood University and Residential Life, the annual Dark Carnival has evolved into one of Lindenwood’s beloved traditions where students, friends, and family come together for a night of community spooky fun, free activities, and fall vibes.
This year’s lineup consists of entertainment for ghosh and ghouls of all ages, with the Food Truck Graveyard featuring Saint Charles local favourites, including SNS Goodies, Tasty Burger, Hot Box Cookies, and Lyons Frozen Custard. The Carnival begins with Trunk or Treating from 5 to 7 pm for kids, followed by the Little Monster Mash to dance the night away. Those looking for a scare can test their courage inside McCluer Hall’s annual haunted house, which is run by the Residential Life team. However, beware, it is not for the faint of heart. Warner Hall will hold stories being shared by author Nicki Jacobsmeyer of Lindenwoods’ eeriest ghost tales, while Clover, a St. Louis cover band, will crock the crowds from the gazebo in the center of the heritage side of campus.
Lindenwood has also partnered with OASIS Food Pantry for a canned food drive where guests can donate a nonperishable item to receive an exclusive Dark Carnival T-shirt, while supplies last. The Dark Carnival is a community celebration that unforgettably brings the celebration together. It has been a tradition for generations at Lindenwood.
From haunted thrills at McCluer Hall to sweet treats at trunk or treating, this year’s Dark Carnival is shaping up to be one of the Lindenwood Community’s best. Admission and activities are free, just bring a costume, your friends, and school spirit!
