ST. LOUIS — The Evolution Music Festival will not return in 2026, organizers announced this week, saying the event will take a one-year pause due to a crowded regional schedule.
The festival, which launched in 2022 and has been held in Forest Park for the past three years, has become a summer staple for many St. Louis music fans. Lindenwood University has partnered with the festival since its inception, giving students access to the two-day event.
In 2025, Evolution Music Festival was headlined by Sublime and Lenny Kravitz, along with 28 additional artists.
Organizers said the decision to pause the festival is tied to the number of major events planned across the region next year, including the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations, the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics.
Festival leadership said they remain committed to the St. Louis community despite the hiatus.
“We want to continue to show our gratitude for the state, city, sponsors, partners and the fans,” organizers said in a statement on their website. “From day one, our goal has been to create an experience that brings people together, celebrates music, and positively impacts our region. That mission will never pause.”
Some festivalgoers said they were disappointed but understood the decision.
“I thought it was neat,” said attendee Parker Kilen. “They had plenty of big performers, but also musicians who weren’t as famous and still drew a lot of people. They had really good food, drinks and festivities. I think it is kind of disappointing that it is going away, but I can understand the reasons.”
Festival officials said they hope to return after 2026 and encouraged fans to stay connected for updates.
