ST. CHARLES, Mo. — MLB Network host and Lindenwood University alum Greg Amsinger will return to his alma mater later this week to host The Amsinger Series, a live event featuring key figures from the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. Amsinger will lead a preseason conversation with Cardinals President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom and Manager Oliver Marmol, offering fans an inside look at the franchise as it enters a new era of leadership.
“We are thrilled to welcome Greg and his guests to Lindenwood University for this special evening,” Lindenwood President Dr. John R. Porter said. “St. Louis and St. Charles are home to so many passionate baseball fans, and we are eager to welcome community members to our campus for this special evening.”
Amsinger, a St. Louis native, graduated from Lindenwood in 2001 and has built a prominent career in sports broadcasting. He joined MLB Network in 2009 and currently serves as the network’s lead host. Before that, he worked at CBS College Sports, hosting coverage that included Inside College Football and NCAA basketball.
Before launching his national broadcasting career, Amsinger gained experience in local media, working at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana, and holding several part-time radio positions while attending Lindenwood. Those roles included two years as a producer for the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Radio Network on KMOX, play-by-play work at KSLQ radio, and serving as the inaugural voice of the now-defunct River City Renegades indoor professional football team.
In addition to his MLB Network duties, it was recently announced that Amsinger will host the remainder of the regular season and all postseason Major League Baseball coverage on TBS, appearing on programs such as MLB Leadoff and MLB Closer.
Amsinger also remains connected to Lindenwood as a member of the university’s President’s Council.
For students looking to purchase tickets, a student rush will take place from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, the day of the event, where students may receive two free tickets to the event.
Tickets must be picked up directly from the box office with a valid student ID, and students looking to sit together as a group must come to the box office together to guarantee seat locations nearby.
Anyone else looking for tickets for The Amsinger Series can purchase available tickets through the Lindenwood University Box Office online, by phone, or in person at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
