February is upon us so here are some local events around St. Charles to attend.
Once Upon a Valentine Event in Saint Charles
Friday, Feb. 6
First Friday, at The Foundry
Looking for free live music, art to look at, or even artists to meet? Look no further than The Foundry’s First Friday event. The family-friendly event has refreshments for sale community to chit-chat with, art to admire, and a setting to see local artists in their workshops.
Feb. 7 – 8
Once Upon A Valentine: Stories for the Loved & Loveless
Hosted on Mainstreet, this is St. Charles’s new afternoon Valentine’s themed celebration. From noon to three, go check out the pro and anti-Valentines day activities. With six different pro Valentine’s day activities like “KISS”-ing booth to archery with cupid, spin the Wheel-O-Sonnets for a rendition of Shakespeare’s most passion-filled dialogue, stop by for a spontaneous poem by their Parisian Poet, and more. Unless you’re anti-Valentines, in which case you can check out their Anti-Valentines Day activities, ranging from commiserating with all 6 of Henry VIII’s wives with heart shaped piñata smashings, Gangster Mugshots with Valentines Day Massacre gangsters to remind you how the walls have been splattered red on the infamous love holiday and an anti love sing-along.
Sunday, Feb. 15
Mardi Gras Parade
Not a fan of Valentine’s Day? No problem, save your energy for the family-friendly Mardi Gras Parade on Main Street. Starting at 11 a.m., the parade will be followed by an after-party featuring live music, food, vendors, kids’ activities and more at the Lewis and Clark Boathouse Parking Lot.
Feb. 20 – 22
St. Louis Tattoo Festival
200+ tattoo artists from around the world congregate for St. Louis’s annual tattoo festival. This festival promises three days of live tattooing, vendor booths, contests, and a variety of entertainment. Whether you’ve got many tattoos or none, this festival offers a unique opportunity to enjoy nonstop art and culture for tattoo admirers. While many artists require a booking in advance, there will be some artists who will take walk ups. The three-day festival has two different ticket purchase options; but the three-day pass for $45 or a single day pass for $20. Friday hours are 1 p.m.- 10 p.m., Saturday’s 11 a.m.- 10 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Art in Bloom
The Saint Louis Art Museum’s annual celebration of flowers and fine arts is back from Feb. 27 to March 1. Tickets are free; however, the festival includes special ticketed events, family activities, dining and shopping.

Totally Rad Vintage Fest!
For this indoor festival, the vendors specialize in clothing and accessories from the 80s, 90s, and Y2K. As well as some toys and home goods are sold. There will also be a free-play vintage arcade, photo station, and their constructed museum with relics from the past. Photo booth standard ticket prices advance are $9.80 online, and $12 the day of. Their Saturday early access pass costs $27.30. The time for the shows are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., unless you purchase the Saturday early access pass.
