Five reasons to leave your dorm this week

If you’re looking for something to do this week outside of class, here are five ideas for things to do on campus or in the St. Charles area.

1. Watch movies on the big screen for free during Lindenwood’s Film Series showings this week.
7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, “Pan’s Labyrinth”
7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, “A Monster Calls” 
Library and Academic Resources Center, Theater (Room 343)

Pan’s Labyrinth” and “A Monster Calls” are the fifth and sixth installments of the Lindenwood Film Series.

2. See local artists’ work at the MOSAICS Fine Art Festival.
4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15
11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16
11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17

MOSAICS Fine Art Festival is a free event on Main Street in Historic St. Charles. Over 100 artists from the state, region and country will show off their work during this three-day event. Click here for more information on the festival.

3. Take a step back in time at the Renaissance Festival.
Sept. 16 – Oct. 15
Rotary Park 2577 West Meyer Rd., Wentzville, MO 63385

Enjoy the festivities of yesteryear at the Renaissance Festival in Wentzville. There are jousting knights and timely food options to set the scene. The festivities happen every weekend from Sept. 16 through Oct. 15.

4. Bring your family on campus for Family Day 2017.
10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16
Lindenwood University, St. Charles campus

Spend some quality time with family and friends during Lindenwood’s Family Day. Events include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Library and Academic Resources Center, an international festival, an ice cream social and a home football game where the Lions will take on Washburn University. 5. Enjoy music, cheese and wine at Augusta’s Harvest Festival. 
Sept. 15-16

Attendees will be able to enjoy a concert and picnic in the vineyard on Friday. On Saturday there will be a “A Taste of Historic Augusta” followed by a “Wine Maker Social.” The full schedule can be found here
